Liverpool is two markets bolted together. The south-west — Austral, Leppington, Edmondson Park, Middleton Grange — is release land being built out block by block, and it is one of the highest-volume new-home corridors in the country.
The established east is a rebuild and granny flat market on much older stock, with the Georges River running through the middle of it. Between the two, the slab work here covers about every condition we pour into anywhere in Sydney.

The established suburbs sit on shale weathering to a reactive clay. Moderate to high reactivity is normal, and the engineer designs the beams around ground movement rather than around the building load.
New release land is cut and filled to level platforms before a builder arrives. Certified controlled fill can carry a slab; uncertified fill usually means piering to natural ground. Send the compaction report with the plans.
Along the river the ground turns to alluvial sand and silt, with old extraction land around Chipping Norton and flood planning levels over much of it. Piering and filling to a set floor level are both common here.
