What is a council crossover?
A council crossover is the driveway space between the property boundary and the road when you enter any driveway. This is “council property” including the footpath, kerb & gutter.

For almost all new builds and major renovations, your local council may require you to under take the reconstruction and make good of council crossovers, paths, kerbs & gutters that may have been damaged during construction process and driveway location changes and gradients.

Councils throughout Sydney and NSW will only permit licensed and insured contractors to under take these works. All councils have different processes and requirements for construction processes and concrete finishes.

Council Crossover Applications & Fees

Application

Before being able to start any modification works for your driveway Masta Concrete may need to apply to council to construct the new driveway, path, kerb & gutter works that may be required for your property. This process could take 1-6 weeks depending on council and will depend on the council.

Crossover, Paths & Kerb Construction

Once approved by council Masta Concrete will start constructing your new crossovers, paths, kerbs & gutters as per council provided design and specifications.
Each council has different designs and specifications for both construction and finishes.

Crossover Construction, Inspections & Approvals

Inspection

Prior to being able to pour any concrete council engineers are required to inspect the works and provide approval for concreting works to begin. Once this is done we are able to complete the works to council satisfaction.

We did our 30m slopping driveway including the vehicular crossing on the nature strip using Masta Concrete.Ali has been very helpful right from the start of our engagement. He patiently explained the whole process to us from excavation, roadbase filling, formwork, concrete pouring and also removed all concrete waste. Additionally, he was very accommodating as we increased the scope of the work by extending a drop edge as well as council vehicular crossing. Above all these, his quote was fair and reasonably priced. He and his team came on site often for each phase and kept us informed of the timeline.On the day of the concrete pour, his team arrived early on site.
