Civil Concrete

Civil Works

Civil concrete works across Sydney — kerbs, hardstands, pavements, crossings and associated concrete for commercial and industrial sites, poured to the design levels, falls and load requirements.

Concrete kerb, crossover and civil pavement works on a Sydney road

Civil concrete works, built to spec

From council driveway crossovers and kerbs through to carparks, footpaths and retaining walls — civil concrete set out to the design levels and falls, poured to the engineer's documentation, and finished by one team.

What Are Civil Concrete Works?

Civil concrete works are the external, site-wide concrete elements on a commercial or industrial project — kerbs and channels, hardstands, vehicle pavements, footpaths, vehicle crossings and dish drains. They tie the buildings to the site and the street, carry vehicle traffic, and control where water runs.

Because these areas drain and carry loads, levels, falls and the pavement design all matter. We set out the work to the civil or structural engineer's drawings — slab thickness, reinforcement, concrete grade, jointing, and the surface levels and falls — and pour to those requirements.

With concrete construction experience across Greater Sydney since 2012, we form, reinforce, pour and finish civil concrete to the documentation provided, managed by one team from set-out to the finished pour.

  • Kerbs, hardstands, pavements, crossings and dish drains
  • Set out to the design levels and falls for drainage
  • Built to the civil or structural engineer's design
  • Pavement section matched to the vehicle loads
  • One team manages set-out, steel, pour and finish

Built for Site & Traffic

What we account for on civil concrete works.

Levels & Falls

External pavements have to shed water to the drainage points. We set out and pour to the design falls so the surface drains rather than ponds.

Load-Rated Pavements

Hardstands and truck areas are built to the engineered pavement design — thickness, reinforcement and concrete grade matched to the vehicle loads.

Kerbs & Crossings

Kerbs, channels, dish drains and vehicle crossings formed and poured to line and level so they tie in cleanly with the road and the site.

Built to Engineering

Civil concrete is built to the civil or structural engineer's drawings — section, reinforcement, jointing and surface levels all to specification.

Jointing & Set-out

Construction and control joints are set out to manage shrinkage across larger pavements and hardstands, with the pour sequence planned for site access.

One Accountable Team

Set-out, formwork, steel, the pour and the finish are run by one team — one point of contact accountable from start to finish.

How Civil Works Get Built

Three clear stages, one team accountable for every step.

1

Set-out & Levels

We work from the civil or structural design — confirming pavement sections, reinforcement, concrete grade, jointing and the surface levels and falls. The area is prepared and set out to those levels before any concrete is booked.

2

Formwork & Steel

Kerbs, edges and pavement formwork are set to line and level, and the reinforcing steel is fixed to the engineer's schedule. The set-up is checked against the drawings before the pour.

3

Pour, Finish & Cure

Concrete is placed, screeded to the design levels and falls, and finished to the required standard. Control joints are cut at the right time and the work is cured before the area is handed back.

Warehouse & Factory Flooring

Industrial sites usually need internal floor slabs too. See how we build heavy-duty warehouse and factory floors.

We build to the civil or structural engineer's documentation for your site. If you don't yet have a design, send us the plans and we can advise on what's needed before the work is quoted.

What Affects the Cost of Civil Concrete Works?

Every Job Is Quoted on the Site

  • Area, lineal metres of kerb and overall scope
  • Pavement section, reinforcement and concrete grade
  • Levels, falls and drainage requirements
  • Ground conditions and site access

Every civil job is different — the pavement design, the lineal metres of kerb and crossings, the levels and falls, and site access all affect the final number. Send us your plans and engineering and we'll prepare a fixed-price quote. No deposit to quote, no obligation.

Civil Works Questions Answered

On a commercial or industrial site, civil concrete work is the external concrete around the buildings — kerbs and channels, hardstands and vehicle pavements, footpaths, vehicle crossings, dish drains and the associated formwork and reinforcement. We pour it to the design levels and falls so the site drains, carries traffic and ties in with the buildings and the street.
Yes. External pavements and hardstands have to shed water to the drainage points, so falls and surface levels are critical. We set out the levels and falls to the civil design before forming up, and pour and screed to those levels so water runs to the kerbs, dish drains or pits rather than ponding on the slab.
We build civil pavements and hardstands to the structural or civil engineer's design — slab thickness, reinforcement, concrete grade and jointing — which is set for the vehicle and equipment loads the area has to carry. Heavily trafficked hardstands and truck areas are designed differently to a light-duty footpath, and we pour to whichever specification applies.
